"You will just be a number. Their clients are not important to them. Or maybe I just don’t pay enough. I’ve been with State Farm for over a decade and my parents even longer than I’ve been alive- 30+ years. We were previously with Bill Hooten and he was incredible. Unfortunately he retired and we got sent to Roy Moreno. I used to get a birthday card every year on my birthday with a gift certificate to a local business, now if I’m lucky, I get marketing mail trying to sell me life insurance. Aside from losing the personalization that made Bill Hooten so incredible, there weren’t any complaints with Roy’s team. Earlier this year, I requested changes to my policy and somehow everything got screwed up and it became a billing nightmare. I was overcharged by several hundred dollars and no one could figure out what was wrong or how to fix it or even what my bill was supposed to be. Despite how frustrating and stressful it was, I understand mistakes happen and sometimes you can’t control technology. There were probably many contributing factors between human error and systems not working properly. I’ve been dealing with this billing issue every month for about 7 months now with incorrect bills, sometimes not receiving bills at all and constantly changing amounts. I have tried to be patient and it just seems every month there’s yet another issue. I was hopeful last month would be the end of it, but it was not. When I was told that my policy was going to be canceled because it hadn’t been paid (it was supposed to be on autopay after I was assured that this bill would finally be the correct amount), I expressed my frustrations and that all this trouble has me seconds away from leaving and going somewhere else. They told they couldn’t blame me for leaving and to let them know if I decided to do that or if they should go ahead and charge my card. There was zero attempt to make anything right or keep me as a client in any way. Maybe I don’t pay enough to be valued or maybe they have so many clients that they don’t care. It’s not like I expected some huge freebie or discount. But to just straight up not care if I stayed or not? No attempt to rectify my experience? Surprising and disappointing. I will definitely be paying more money to go elsewhere but it’ll be better than the apathy I receive here."
